Membership levels are divided into four tiers. You can choose either "single consumption" or "accumulated consumption" as the method for calculating the total consumption amount required for membership upgrades.
All current and newly registered members will be assigned as basic members and automatically placed in the first tier, "basic." The default name for the first tier is "basic," and the total consumption required for an upgrade is set to $0 by default. Both of these conditions cannot be changed.
It is recommended to create all tiers when setting up for the first time and modify them later if necessary.

Set membership level for the first time
In addition to BASIC, merchants can set up three levels.
Steps:
- From the Boutir CMS, go to People > Overview.
- In the member tier section, click Setup/Edit tier.
- Select the membership upgrade condition.
- Single purchases or
- Accumulated purchases
- Set up 3 tier levels by filling in the tier name and the total spending required for the upgrade.
- Click Save.
Notes:
- The membership level is progressive, and the levels set by the merchant will accumulate starting from that date. Please pause all ongoing online promotions until the membership tiers are established. Consider the necessity of changing your membership levels in the future, as any changes will affect the calculation of membership points.
- If you need to reset the levels, first delete the lower levels, then correct the highest level, and finally add the new level. If only one level is modified, the original membership level will remain unchanged.
- Once a merchant enables a membership level, all customized membership levels cannot be deleted, and at least one customized level must be retained.
Modify membership level
Steps:
- From the Boutir CMS, go to People > Overview.
- In the member tier section, click Setup/Edit tier.
- Modify the tier name and total spending for upgrade as needed, or click "X" to delete the level.
- Click Save.
Notes:
- Members will receive an email notification after each modification or save.
- It is recommended to set the membership levels before opening the store to avoid confusion.
- Changing the calculation of membership points will affect the classification of existing members. Please be aware of the following restrictions:
Modification:
- The merchant can modify all three level names and amount requirements above "BASIC" at the same time.
Deletion:
- The merchant can only delete one level at a time between "BASIC" and "Highest". Members will be notified after each modification or save.
Addition:
- If a merchant deletes a lower level, they can only add a new higher level. The new price must not be lower than the existing highest level.
Level Adjustments:
- When a membership level is changed, the existing member's level will only be adjusted upwards.
Example:
If the membership levels are BASIC/T1/T2/T3, and the upgrade threshold is changed from T1: $50 → $30 and T2: $80 → $100:
- A member will be upgraded to T1 when their consumption reaches $30 (even if the new threshold is $50).
- If a member was previously at T2 and their total spending is $80, they will not be downgraded, even though the new threshold for T2 is $100.
Manually modify individual membership levels
Steps:
- From the Boutir CMS, go to People > All members.
- Select individual or multiple members and click Adjust tier.
- Select the target level and click Confirm.
Notes:
- Members will receive an email notification after each modification or save.
- It is recommended to communicate with the member before making any changes to their membership level.
- Any changes to points will take effect immediately.
- After a manual upgrade or downgrade, the member's upgrade consumption amount will be reset to zero. The system will then display the difference in the next upgrade consumption amount.
Example:
- Membership levels: BASIC, T1 (consumption threshold is $50), T2 (consumption threshold is $450).
- If a member has spent $1,000 and becomes a T2 member, but is manually downgraded to BASIC:
- They will need to spend an additional $50 to upgrade to T1.
- If downgraded to T1, they will need to spend another $450 to upgrade back to T2.
- If a merchant manually upgrades a member from T1 to T2:
- The member’s consumption record will not change.
- Only the consumption difference required for the next upgrade will be reset.
