What is Atome?
Atome was established in Singapore in December 2019 to provide interest-free installment payment services for customers. At present, there have been 200,000 local users and around 120,000 active users. During November last year, they officially expanded their services to Hong Kong, becoming the first enterprise to provide “Buy first, Pay later” payment services in Hong Kong. Now Atome has over 100 online and offline retail business partners, consisting of Fashion, Beauty, Electrical gadgets, Lifestyle and more industries, for example 6IXTY8IGHT, Kapok, CityLink, YOHO, FX Creations, etc.
From the perspective of Customers, what are the characteristics of Atome service?
Although Atome’s “Buy First, Pay Later” service is similar to the instalment payment service of traditional banks and credit card companies, customers can have different shopping experiences with Atome. If customers use the latter, they are usually required to fill in an application form, facing more inconvenience.
If customers want to pay with Atome, they need to set up an account with their identity card number, credit card and phone number beforehand. The amount of consumption is limited to HKD $10000.
During the transaction, customers can split the bill into 3 instalments within simple steps – pay only the first instalment, and the remaining will be paid in the form of automatic payment transfer, with zero interest, zero handling fee and no annual fee.
However, if the customer has failed to pay on time, the related account will be frozen while a fine of at most HKD $300 will be imposed. Compared to the situation where banks charge interest on overdue bills continuously, Atome only charges a fine. Therefore Atome is more able to reduce the burden of customers.

From the perspective of Merchants, what are the characteristics of Atome service?
Atome gives customers greater payment flexibility, reducing the amount of instant consumption and thereby arousing their shopping desire. This can help merchants bring in more revenue and profit.
According to official data, after merchants have activated Atome, the turnover and the amount of every transaction have increased by 17% and 30% respectively on average.
In addition, Atome is dedicated to safeguarding merchants' interests. Merchants do not need to worry about the risk of bad debts, as they will be taken by Atome solely. Moreover, merchants will receive the full payment upon successful transactions and deduction of handling fees within 3 working days.

How can customers checkout with Atome on online stores?
Desktop Version
- Customers can choose “Atome” as the payment method in the checkout process, then click on “Confirm to pay” to continue.
- After confirming the order, customers can pay in the following two ways:
- Scan the QR code via the Atome APP
- Login Atome account on the official website and pay
- (a) If customers choose to pay via the Atome APP, they shall open the Atome APP and click on “Scan QR code” to scan the QR code appeared on the previous page.
(b) If customers choose to continue with the web version, they shall enter a registered phone number and click on “Send Verification Code”. Next, they can input the verification code received through SMS, then click on “Next” to continue.
- After scanning the QR code / confirming identity through verification code, payment details and installments information will be shown. Customers can click on “Confirm to pay” if no problem arises.
- After successful payment, customers will be redirected to the page of “Paid successfully” and receive a SMS message. Click on “Confirm” to complete the payment.
- After the payment is completed, customers will be redirected to the page of “Confirmed Order”.

- Customers can choose “Atome” as the payment method in the checkout process, then click on “Confirm to pay” to continue.
- After customers have confirmed the order, they will be redirected to the Atome APP. Then, payment details and installments information will be shown. Customers can click on “Confirm to pay” if no problem arises.
- After successful payment, customers will be redirected to the page of “Paid successfully” and receive a SMS message. Click on “Confirm” to complete the payment.
- After the payment is completed, customers will be redirected to the page of “Confirmed Order”.
